Weather Report: Bikinis forecast on day three

It is good news as far as the weather is concerned for day three of London 2012. Conditions should allow plenty of tennis at Wimbledon and make a lot of skin-seekers happy at Horse Guards Parade.

The headline weather news on day three of the London 2012 Olympic Games is that bikinis should remain on full display for the entire day's Beach Volleyball session at Horse Guards Parade.

Female athletes have been told that they may wear long T-shirts and leggings if temperatures dip below 16°.

Rain should just about hold off all day in Central London and temperatures should remain above the cut-off point - peaking a 19° - until around 10.30pm.

At Wimbledon, the news is better than on Sunday - when many tennis matches were washed off the schedule.

A sunny morning and a cloudy afternoon is forecast at SW19. Occasional brief rain delays are to be expected - but nothing persistent.

The archery at Lord's should remain dry.
