Usain Bolt has confirmed that he will not compete in next month's Diamond League meetings in Paris and Lausanne.
It was expected that the 28-year-old would use the two races to prepare for the defence of his 100m, 200m and 4x100m relay titles at the World Athletics Championships in August.
However, a problem with the sacroiliac joint in his back has forced the 28-year-old to withdraw from both events.
"I'm disappointed not to be able to compete in Paris and Lausanne. I love running at these meetings, but at the moment I am unable to compete at 100%. I look forward to getting back into full training as soon as possible," the sprinter said in a statement on his official website.
Bolt is currently in Munich, where he has been receiving treatment from Doctor Muller-Wohlfahrt.
