Adam Gemili: 'I must work for World Championships place'

Sprinter Adam Gemili admits that he must work hard to ensure that he earns a place in Great Britain's squad for the World Championships later this year.

Adam Gemili has admitted that British sprinting has reached "another level" ahead of the World Championships this summer.

Last year, Gemili won Commonwealth silver in the 100m and European gold in the 200m, but the Londoner has insisted that despite his recent achievements, he is not guaranteed a place in the squad that will travel to Beijing in August.

The 21-year-old told BBC Sport: "Sprinting is at another level right now. I've got to make the British team first before thinking of the World Championships but once I do that, I'll aim for a medal and aim for the top."

At the last World Championships in 2013, Gemili became only the second Brit to run under 20 seconds in the 200m.
