British long jumper Greg Rutherford has claimed that he craves success more than his rivals after winning his second title in as many weeks.
Last week, Rutherford won gold at the World Athletics Championships to complete the career Grand Slam, before he followed that triumph with victory at the Diamond League Finals in Zurich, where he pipped Marquis Dendy on countback after both had registered 8.32m.
The win caps a fine campaign for Rutherford, who has revealed that he was motivated to perform to his best in Switzerland after it was suggested that he had been fortunate to win another major title in Beijing.
The 28-year-old told BBC Sport: "After the World Championships people were saying, 'we're going to take him in Zurich, he's the one we're going to take down' and 'fluke' and whatever else.
"My competitors think I don't want it as much as them but I want it more."
Prior to his most recent achievements, Rutherford had won Diamond League meetings in Birmingham, Oslo and Stockholm during the summer.
