Meanwhile, amateur Yuki Kawauchi came first in the men's race with a time of two hours, 15 minutes and 58 seconds, marking the first victory for a Japanese athlete since 1987.
Kawauchi has been raising his profile in recent years, having competed in last year's World Championships in London and registered a top-10 finish there.
In the wheelchair races, Switzerland's Marcel Hug won the men's race for a fourth year in a row while American Tatyana McFadden was victorious in the women's race.
