British athlete Martin Rooney has insisted that he will impress at the Olympics if he can record a new personal best in the 400m.
Rooney has claimed that he has set himself goals to achieve in London and that he is "positive" ahead of his campaign for a medal.
The 25-year-old told BBC Sport: "I'm a very positive person and I believe that I have trained as hard as my body will let me in preparation for the London Olympic Games.
"Running a PB will be necessary for me to achieve my goals at the championships and I'm not going there to make up the numbers so yeah, I guess you could say I'm pretty confident."
Rooney competes in the 400m on Saturday.
