ParalympicsGB blast past medal target

ParalympicsGB storm back to second in the medal table after surpassing their original medal target of 103.

ParalympicsGB have sprinted past their London 2012 medal target following a successful 'thriller Thursday' on day eight of the Games.

UK Sport set a tally of 103 medals for the host nation but are now sitting on 108 after glory in the pool, road cycling and the athletics track, where 19-year-old Jonnie Peacock clinched gold in the men's T44 100m final.

The British teen managed to see off South African star Oscar Pistorius, who failed to medal in the highly anticipated race, with a time of 10.90s.

The latest medal haul puts Great Britain back into second in the medal table over Russia, with China sitting comfortably on top.
