David Weir reveals his pride at adding the T54 1500m gold to his 5000m title.

David Weir has revealed his pride at adding the T54 1,500m gold to the 5,000m title that he achieved on Sunday night.

Weir got himself to the front by the final bend and no-one was catching him down the home straight and the Brit said he was surprised that he managed both golds.

"I'm very proud," he said. "I'm shocked really because the 1,500m field has been so strong I've hardly won this year. I was probably fourth favourite going into the race.

"The plan was for me to win [the 5,000m] on the first night. Once you get the first win you can relax and do your talking on the track.

"It's just emotional. I've got my mum here and my dad. I only see him once a year and he's never seen me in a big stadium. It's amazing."

Weir's gold was Great Britain's second of the night on the track.
