Dina Asher-Smith has described herself as "really happy" to make the final of the women's 200m at the World Athletics Championships in Beijing.
The 19-year-old continued her ascent up the sprinting ranks by posting the fastest overall time in the semi-finals, crossing the line with a new personal best of 22.12s to break the mark that she had set in the heats.
Asher-Smith was delighted after the race, suggesting that she had not been expecting to reach the final at the Bird's Nest Stadium.
"I'm really happy. Now I'm a World Championships finalist and that's more than I could've asked for," she told BBC Sport.
"I was really happy with the heat and when I saw who I had in the semi-final I knew it was strong competition and that I would have to really go for it.
"That was so much fun. Oh my, I'm a World Championship finalist. I'm loving being in Beijing."
The women's 200m final takes place tomorrow afternoon at 2pm BST.
