Mo Farah has been named as the men's European Athlete of the Year 2011 by European Athletics.
The award has rounded off a largely successful 12 months for the 28-year-old, who claimed gold and silver in the 5,000m and 10,000m respectively at the World Athletics Championships in South Korea two months ago.
Farah also set a European indoor record over 5,000m in Birmingham in February and successfully defended his 3,000m title at the European Indoors in Paris the following month.
The British athlete will collect his award in Spain on Saturday, October 15.
