The Dallas Mavericks have reportedly put a new deal for Dirk Nowitzki on hold until after they have had a face-to-face meeting with free agent Carmelo Anthony.
While the Mavericks front office is in advanced discussions with their star forward, they will not finalise terms on the new deal until they have attempted to recruit the New York Knicks star, and Nowitzki is content to wait.
"Cubes (Mavs owner Mark Cuban) knows I don't want to go anywhere and he doesn't want me to go anywhere," he said, ESPN reports.
Anthony is expected to visit the Chicago Bulls on Tuesday before heading to Dallas and the Houston Rockets on Wednesday ahead of meeting with the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday.
