The Golden State Warriors have announced that Klay Thompson has been diagnosed with a concussion two days after being kneed in the head.
The shooting guard suffered the injury during the fourth quarter of the team's series-clinching win over the Houston Rockets, but was initially cleared to return to the game, before complaining of concussion-like symptoms and being sick afterwards.
A statement from the team said: "Following extensive examinations over the last two days, including neurological tests earlier this morning, Warriors guard Klay Thompson has been diagnosed with a concussion.
"He will not return to the court until he is symptom-free and cleared under the NBA's concussion protocol guidelines. He will be evaluated daily and there is no timetable for his return."
The Warriors are due to begin the NBA Finals against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday.
