Dwight Howard to undergo knee scan

Houston Rockets center Dwight Howard says that his knee is "very painful" ahead of a scan after picking up an injury in game one of the Western Conference finals.

Dwight Howard will undergo on MRI scan on his knee later today after picking up an injury in game one of the Western Conference finals.

The Houston Rockets center collided with Josh Smith midway through the first quarter of the 110-106 defeat to the Golden State Warriors, forcing him out of the game shortly after.

The 29-year-old told reporters: "It's very painful. I tried to play it off as much as possible, but I couldn't give my teammates what I needed to give them."

Howard missed half of the games in the regular season, most of which were because of a knee injury.
