Report: Blake Griffin to miss six weeks with elbow injury

A report suggests that Los Angeles Clippers forward Blake Griffin will be ruled out for six weeks after sustaining a staph infection in his right elbow.

Los Angeles Clippers forward Blake Griffin could reportedly be out of action for up to six weeks after undergoing an operation.

The 25-year-old sustained a staph infection in his right elbow, which was diagnosed before his side's 131-108 defeat to the Oklahoma City Thunder as he missed the game.

Griffin had the surgery to remove the infection on Monday and will be assessed again to determine how long the injury will keep him sidelined, but ESPN suggests that he could be ruled out between two to six weeks.

The All-Star has averaged 22.5 points a game for the Clippers this season.
