A member of Israel's leading basketball team Maccabi Tel Aviv has been suspended by his club after reportedly calling an opposing player 'a Nazi'.
Guy Pnini, who is also the team's captain, is understood to have verbally abused a rival player during a match earlier this week, but he reportedly claimed that he had been acting in self-defence.
The 29-year-old has been stripped of the captaincy for the season, according to BBC Sport, in addition to a suspension from playing and a fine of £16,000.
The small forward is regarded as one of his country's leading basketball talents.
