Kobe Bryant gives Kevin Durant injury advice

Oklahoma City Thunder star Kevin Durant reveals that he received advice from Kobe Bryant on how to deal with being sidelined by injury.

Oklahoma City Thunder star Kevin Durant has revealed that he asked Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant for advice ahead of his injury layoff.

Durant underwent surgery on a foot fracture last month and he is expected to miss between six and eight weeks of action during his rehabilitation process.

As a result, he reached out to Bryant to seek advice on how to deal with being on the sidelines after the Lakers veteran played in just six games last season due to injury.

"He just told me, he tried to learn the game as much as he can from the sideline and be the best teammate he can be and support all the guys," Durant told ESPN.

"From a guy like Kobe that stood out to me, just knowing he's at the top of his game, but always trying to get better in all aspects, I learned a lot just from that conversation. It was big for me."

Durant will be re-evaluated in around four weeks, while the Thunder have started 1-3 so far this season with point guard Russell Westbrook also ruled out of action with injury.
