Jacque Vaughn pleased despite Orlando Magic defeat

Orlando Magic coach Jacque Vaughn is pleased with his side's progress despite their 121-112 away defeat to the San Antonio Spurs.

Orlando Magic coach Jacque Vaughn has said that he is pleased with his side's progress despite their 121-112 away defeat to the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday evening.

The Spurs ran out comfortable winners thanks to an impressive performance from Tony Parker, who notched his third 30-point tally of the season to sink the travelling Magic.

"This is one of those games I didn't even pick up a stat sheet," Vaughn told reporters after the game.

"The stats don't matter. I saw the way our group played. They played together. They played with resilience. Great things came from this game.

"We didn't win, but probably one of our better road games of the year. So we're getting better."

The result sees Orlando occupying fifth position in the Southeast Division with a record of 19-45 for the season.
