Joel Embiid makes third pick with Philadelphia 76ers despite injury

The Philadelphia 76ers use one of their Draft picks to select center Joel Embiid at number three.

Rising prospect Joel Embiid has been selected as the third NBA Draft pick by the Philadelphia 76ers despite breaking his foot last week.

Embiid was not present at the event as he looks to recover from an operation, with the injury potentially contributing to him not being viewed as a number one pick.

Embiid spent the past month working out with a number of teams, before injury hampered his final week in the run up to the Draft.

It is not yet known how much basketball he will miss with the 76ers, as the rangy center looks to recover from a stress fracture.
