San Antonio Spurs star Tony Parker to be rested

San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich concedes that too much basketball has caught up with point guard Tony Parker.

San Antonio Spurs point guard Tony Parker will be out for the "foreseeable future" in order to help him recover from injury concerns, according to coach Gregg Popovich.

The Frenchman had been sidelined with a stiff lower back but played in the All-Star game on Sunday and finished with four points, two rebounds and one assist.

"He doesn't have a pulled hamstring or anything, but he's got a lot of little things. Basically a lot of basketball the last three years, it's caught up to him," Popovich said, ESPN reports.

Parker conceded that he agreed with his coach's decision to keep him rested, as he believes that he hasn't been playing to his full ability in their previous games.
