Ecuador's Carlos Quipo Pilataxi has beaten Jose de la Nieve Linares of Spain to reach the last 16 of the light flyweight class.
An evenly-matched first round saw Pilataxi emerge with a one-point cushion and he looked to increase his advantage in the second with a couple of decent rights.
However, the Ecuadorian had to be warned on a few occasions for slapping.
Pilataxi led by three as the bout neared its conclusion and Linares was forced to attack. The Spaniard upped his work-rate in the final round, but was matched by Pilataxi, who delivered some thudding blows to the body.
The judges scored the bout 14-11 to Pilataxi.
