Turkish light flyweight Ferhat Pehlivan has defeated Egypt's Ramy Elawady to advance to the last eight of the Olympics.
Elawady threw plenty of shots in the opening round but most of them were blocked by Pelivan's guard. The Turk then replied with interest to take an 8-3 lead.
The second round was fought in much the same way, with Pehlivan tucking up tightly before letting fly with a burst of punches.
The Egyptian had tired by the third round, which became a stroll for Pehlivan, who battered his opponent to wrap up a 20-6 victory.
