Irish boxer Sean McComb has praised his nation's team, calling them "one of the best in competition", while also claiming that he is the fittest boxer at the European Games.
McComb was speaking after his unanimous points win against Yasmin Yilmaz of Turkey this morning to reach the semi-finals of the lightweight competition.
"It comes from how much training we do," McComb told reporters. "It's down to everything. My fitness gives me confidence, I know I'm fitter than anyone out there. We're one of the best teams here, no doubt about it. For a small island we're doing something here.
"It doesn't matter who you're fighting, it's up to the five judges around the ring. It doesn't matter who he is, even he was 7' tall. I'm just here to worry about my own performance."
McComb will now face top seed Albert Selimov of Azerbaijan on Thursday.
