Former world champion Ricky Hatton believes that Amir Khan would have Floyd Mayweather Jr 'running scared' if they were to go toe to toe in the ring.
The undefeated American boxer has confirmed that he will have one more fight after taking on Manny Pacquiao before hanging up his gloves.
Khan has maintained that he wants to face the winner of the Las Vegas fight between Mayweather and Pacquiao, and Hatton believes that the Bolton-born fighter would more than hold his own against the American.
"Amir is boxing with a lot more discipline lately, he's in and out and he's not getting involved," BBC Sport quotes Hatton as saying. "I think that type of style will cause Floyd massive problems. I think Floyd would run a mile.
"Amir's as big a name as is out there, he's beaten pretty much everyone, and Mayweather might be forced to fight him."
Mayweather, who will face Pacquiao on May 2, is undefeated in 47 professional bouts.
