British middleweight Martin Murray reveals that he wants to be considered for a potential fight with world super-middleweight champion Carl Froch.

British middleweight Martin Murray believes that a domestic showdown with Carl Froch would be an "absolute war".

Discussions are currently taking place regarding the next opponent for Froch, with a third fight with Mikkel Kessler a possibility. Should Kessler opt against another bout with the world super-middleweight champion, Murray has insisted that he deserves to be considered to face the Nottingham boxer.

The 30-year-old told Wigan Today: "I can do middleweight comfortably and that's still the weight I want to fight at, but a Froch fight is one I'd be more than open to.

"I believe styles make fights and I think me and Carl Froch would put on an absolute war.

"If Carl is going to fight another British fighter, then I don't see why name isn't in the mix. It makes sense from the American television side of things with me now being known on HBO after the Martinez fight."

Murray recently lost to Sergio Martinez on points in their WBC middleweight title match.
