David Price believes that he has sent a message to the heavyweight division with tonight's destruction of Matt Skelton.
The Liverpool fighter improved his record to 15-0 by stopping the veteran with a punishing body shot in the second round.
"I've made a bit of a statement taking him out inside two rounds," said Price. "Nobody's ever done that before.
"Matt just put it on me straight away. I didn't expect him to come right across the ring and do that, so he took me by surprise even though we know what he's about.
"It was a bit scrappy at times but that's what happens when you box Matt Skelton. He did make things awkward at times and it was difficult to get motivated. It was only this week that I started to get excited about it."
Price has won his last nine fights by knockout.
