Callum Smith: 'Pressure won't be a factor'

British super-middleweight Callum Smith insists that pressure won't be a factor when he faces Christopher Rebrasse for the vacant WBC silver title on Friday night.

British super-middleweight Callum Smith has revealed that dealing with pressure is not new to him as he prepares to fight for the vacant WBC silver title on Friday night.

Smith can move himself into position for a future bout for the world title with victory against Christopher Rebrasse, but the Liverpudlian has insisted that he has gotten used to the expectations that have increased since he began to rise up the rankings.

The 25-year-old told Sky Sports News: "Obviously there is pressure on me, but I put pressure on myself for every fight. Every fight is just as important because if I lose, it's all gone to waste.

"Each fight is as important as each other. This is the biggest one of my career because a win here would hopefully open a lot of doors so that I can push on and challenge for a world title sometime soon."

Smith has won 16 successive matches in the professional ranks, while opponent Rebrasse is no stranger to British supporters having gone the distance with George Groves in September.
