Russia's Sergey Vodopiyanov has been sent packing from London 2012 by Robenilson Vieira of Brazil.
Vodopiyanov looked on top until a sharp two-punch combination from the Brazilian scored the first round 3-2 in his favour.
The pair jousted early in the second, neither willing to cede ground, operating with wide stances and feinting in and out.
The Brazilian was perhaps connecting with the cleaner shots, which was reflected in the judges' 8-6 scoring.
The Russian started let fly midway through the final round as Vieira backed up, unwilling to engage in a war.
However, Vodipiyanov looked very cautious in his approach and never really got going, dropping a 13-11 decision.
