Australia have declared on 527-7 following a commanding first innings against England in the third Ashes Test at Old Trafford.

Captain Michael Clarke gave the nod for his teammates Brad Haddin (65) and Mitchell Starc (66) to end their time at the crease following arguably the tourists' most impressive stint in the series.

Australia surpassed 500 runs by tea thanks largely to Clarke, who racked up 187 runs before being denied his double century by Stuart Broad.

England will have 32 overs to build a strong reply as opening batsmen Alastair Cook and Joe Root take to the crease.
