Michael Clarke to miss rest of one-day international series against South Africa

Australia captain Michael Clarke is to miss the rest of the team's ODI series with South Africa due to a hamstring problem.

A hamstring injury has sidelined Australia captain Michael Clarke for the rest of the team's one-day international series with South Africa.

The veteran aggravated the problem during Friday's opening win in Perth and will now sit out the remaining four matches against the Proteas.

George Bailey will replace Clarke as skipper, while Steve Smith has been called up as a replacement in the batting lineup.

"It's never easy when you're losing one of your best players, but that's part and parcel of sport these days," Australia coach Darren Lehmann is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News. "With the 11 that go on the field, we have full faith in winning each and every game."

Australia and South Africa meet in the second ODI in Perth on Sunday.
