Alastair Cook praises the contribution of Ravi Bopara following England's seven-wicket ODI win over Australia at Old Trafford.

England captain Alastair Cook has heaped praise upon Ravi Bopara following his role in the seven-wicket ODI win over Australia at Old Trafford.

Bopara was named man of the match after his unbeaten knock of 52 helped Cook's England chase down a revised target of 146 with 29 balls to spare.

"We all know what a quality player he is, and he is starting to deliver for England now," said Cook.

"Our number seven batsman didn't get a bat in this series, so that shows how much credit we should give to our top order batsmen in this series."

Bopara has now hit nine half-centuries in 73 one-day internationals.
