Former Australia captain Ricky Ponting believes that batsman David Warner will become a better cricketer following his recent disciplinary issues.
The 26-year-old sparked controversy when he was banned from a Champions Trophy match and two tour games in the summer for punching England batsman Joe Root.
"The thing about Davey, he hasn't had a break from any cricket for about two years," BBC Sport quotes Ponting as saying. "It's such a high-pressurised environment.
"You need to be able to get away and let a bit of steam off here and there. Whenever he has tried to do that, he has got himself in a little bit of trouble.
"He would have learned from that and it will make him a better person and hopefully a better cricketer."
Meanwhile, Australia are preparing to welcome England to Brisbane next month for the start of the return Ashes series.
