Australia captain Michael Clarke has admitted his disappointment after England retained the Ashes with a draw in the third Test at Old Trafford.
The visitors had a sniff of victory on Monday before their hopes were scuppered by the rain in Manchester.
The result puts England in an unassailable position with a 2-0 series lead with two Tests left to play.
"It's obviously very disappointing," Clarke told BBC Sport. "The Australian boys deserve credit for the way we played after Lord's but you can't take anything away from England.
"When you play in the UK. there's always a chance the weather will play a part and unfortunately it did. The goal is to try to to level the series and if we play like this there's no reason why we can't do that.
"I'm confident with the people we have working on our bowlers that we'll get them up for the next Test."
The fourth Test gets underway in Durham on Friday.
