Ashes sponsor Specsavers has confirmed it will offer Jack Leach "free glasses for life" after the bowler kept his wicket intact to help England to a remarkable Ashes victory at Headingley.
The bespectacled spinner joined Ben Stokes at the crease in the third Test with England 286 for nine, 73 runs from victory and heading for defeat not just in the match, but the series too.
Leach managed to fend off the odd delivery at one end, occasionally wiping his glasses clean in between deliveries, as Stokes hit six after six to reach the remarkable target of 359 and level the series at 1-1.
In the immediate aftermath, Specsavers posted on its Twitter account: "Does anybody know Jack Leach's agent? Asking for a friend..."
More was to come when Stokes tweeted the optical retail chain, writing: "Jack Leach........@Specsavers do your self a favour and give him free glasses for life @jackleach1991."
The company swiftly replied: "We can confirm we will offer Jack Leach free glasses for life."
England bowler Stuart Broad also got in on the act, demanding cleaning cloths be thrown into the deal.
