England bowler James Anderson ruled out of final Test against India

England bowler James Anderson is ruled out of the fifth and final Test against India in Chennai due to "body soreness".

England captain Alastair Cook has confirmed that James Anderson will play no part in the fifth and final Test against India due to soreness.

The 34-year-old had recently recovered from a stress fracture in his shoulder, but has not been deemed fit enough to feature in the dead rubber in Chennai.

"Unfortunately Jimmy is ruled out - he's picked up body soreness from the last game, so he's not going to be risked," Cook told reporters in a press conference.

Stuart Broad will have his fitness assessed today after missing the last two Test matches with a tendon strain in his right foot.

England are 3-0 down in the series, which was won by India on Monday.
