England coach Trevor Bayliss has insisted that Jos Buttler will bounce back to enjoy a successful career in Test cricket.
Buttler lost his place in the Test side in the series with Pakistan due to a long stretch of poor form, but the 25-year-old offered another reminder of his ability by hitting an unbeaten 116 off just 52 balls to lead his side to victory in the fourth and final one-day international on Friday.
He will now battle Jonny Bairstow for the gloves ahead of the winter Test series against South Africa, and Bayliss is certain that Buttler will learn to deliver his best form in the longest format.
"He's such a talent that I'm sure he'll be able to adapt his game to the longer form," Bayliss told reporters.
"It's something for us to think about. There's got to be a spot available for him, as well. It'll certainly be spoken about, I'm sure."
Buttler averages 30 with the bat from 15 Test matches.
