Ian Bell has said that he's determined to make the most of his promotion to number four in the England one-day batting order.

The Warwickshire batsman has struggled to make his mark in the shorter form of the game, but with Kevin Pietersen rested for the current series against India, Bell is keen to make his mark.

“It is nice to get the opportunity to get up the order. I’m quite flexible whether batting at the top of the order or number six. It is a great opportunity to show people I can play towards the top of the order,” he told Sky Sports News.

After the first ODI was washed out at Durham, more bad weather is predicted for the Rose Bowl this afternoon.

“We know there is bad forecast and we know we have to be ready to play a 20/20 or maybe a 25-over game, we are aware for it,” Bell added.

England will be boosted by the return of Graeme Swann, who missed Saturday’s match through illness.
