Alastair Cook has been removed as England's one-day captain, with batsman Eoin Morgan taking his place as skipper in the side.
The decision comes following a selectors' meeting on Friday, with Cook insisting that he would not stand down despite his side's recent 5-2 series defeat at the hands of Sri Lanka.
Cook was originally made captain of the ODI team in 2011, but has struggled in recent months with an average of just 27.52 in his last 20 one-day games.
The 29-year-old has captained the team for 69 matches, winning 36 and losing 30 in the 50-over format.
