Alastair Cook has suggested that he will not rush a decision about his future as England Test captain after his team lost 4-0 to India.
After failing to defeat Bangladesh in the two-Test series in October, England have been thoroughly outplayed by India over the past seven weeks, suffering back-to-back innings defeats during the fourth and fifth contests.
The setbacks have resulted in questions being asked about Cook's role as skipper, but the opening batsman insists that now is not the time to make any decisions.
In an interview on the pitch in Chennai with Sky Sports News, the 31-year-old said: "This isn't the place to be standing and answering these kind of questions."
"I need to go away and do some thinking. I will go back home and do it without the emotive side of what has happened over the last nine weeks."
Cook has captained England in the five-day arena on 59 occasions, winning 24 times, losing 15 and registering 20 draws.
