Alastair Cook frustrated by poor display in defeat to India

Alastair Cook admits that England could have no complaints with the defeat to India in the second one-day international on Wednesday.

Alastair Cook offered no excuses for England's poor performance after seeing his side beaten by 133 runs in the second one-day international against India on Wednesday.

Wayward bowling allowed the tourists to post 304-6 from their 50 overs, and England were unable to come close to chasing a revised target of 295 as they crumbled to an emphatic defeat in Cardiff.

"We didn't play very well at all today," Cook told Sky Sports News. "Credit to that partnership from MS [Dhoni] and Suresh Raina, they took the game away from us and we are quite slow to react to that.

"But even when we batted it wasn't a 160 wicket. You've still got to turn up and play and to be brutally honest we didn't do that in any of our departments."

India will take a 1-0 lead into the third match of the series at Trent Bridge on Saturday.
