England pace bowler Mark Wood has committed his future to Durham by signing a new three-year deal, the club has announced.
The 29-year-old Ashington-born seamer, who is currently on duty with the England squad ahead of Thursday's World Cup semi-final showdown with Australia at Edgbaston, was a member of the side which won the County Championship in 2013.
Wood, who is now contracted to Durham until the end of the 2022 season, said: "I am buzzing to be committing another three years to Durham Cricket.
"It is an exciting time for Durham at the moment with the change in coaches and the new identity, so to be able to bowl more overs and take wickets for this team is something I am excited to carry on doing.
"Whenever I step foot out onto the pitch at the Riverside, I just get a great feeling. It was extra special playing for England against New Zealand last week on home soil, so to know I have at least another three more years of playing here definitely makes me smile."
Wood emerged from Durham's famed academy to make his first team debut against Northamptonshire in the Clydesdale Bank 40 during the 2011 season and his first County Championship appearance against the same opposition later that summer.
His elevation to the England squad has seen him become a valuable member of the World Cup side, and he has taken 16 wickets to date to sit eighth in the tournament bowling rankings.
