Kevin Pietersen: 'Andrew Strauss faces huge decisions'

Kevin Pietersen warns former teammate Andrew Strauss that he would face some "huge decisions" if he were to be appointed as ECB director of cricket.

Kevin Pietersen has said that former teammate Andrew Strauss would face some "huge decisions" if he were to be appointed as a director by the England and Wales Cricket Board.

The former skipper has been heavily linked with an ECB role as England continue to be embroiled in struggles both on and off the field.

Pietersen, who was sacked by England following their dismal 2013-14 Ashes campaign in Australia, has made no secret of his desire to return to the international fold, and his possible reintroduction could be one of the biggest decisions Strauss would have to make.

The Surrey batsman called on Strauss to "bring the public back to the team" following a troubled period that has seen them plummet down the Test rankings and be eliminated in the group stages of this year's World Cup.

"I hope Strauss & ECB bring the public back to the team after a treacherous 15 months," the 34-year-old posted on BreatheSport.

"They owe it to the fans! He has some HUGE decisions. Hope he gets them right..."

Pietersen has been involved in a long-running and public dispute with the England hierarchy, but incoming ECB chairman Colin Graves has seemingly opened the door for a potential return.
