Reece Topley agrees new Essex contract

Seamer Reece Topley agrees a new deal with Essex which will keep him at the club until the end of 2015.

Reece Topley will remain at Essex until the end of 2015 after signing a new deal with his boyhood club.

The 20-year-old seam bowler has been capped at England Lions level, and already has 93 first-class wickets to his name.

"I have been at the club since I was nine years old and continue to really enjoy my cricket," Topley is quoted as saying by BBC Sport.

"First Division cricket is extremely important both to me and the club, and I hope I can assist Essex in gaining promotion and also winning one-day trophies."

Topley returned to fitness on Tuesday, shaking off a back injury in time to take part in England's one-day victory over Sri Lanka.
