England slumped to a 53-run defeat during their opening one-day international warm-up fixture against India A in Dehli this morning.
Foggy conditions meant that the match was reduced to 39 overs per side and having won the toss, hosting India A opted to tackle the poor visibility first by batting.
Murali Vijay was their top scorer, having made 76 runs before he was bowled by Samit Patel.
An unbeaten knock of 57 from Abhinav Mukund also pushed along the Indians' score as they eventually reached the 39-over mark on 224-4.
England's reply never really got into full flow, with only four players managing to record double figures.
Opener Ian Bell was the pick of England's batsmen with a unbeaten 91, but he was not helped by the middle order of Patel, Eoin Morgan, Jos Buttler, Craig Keiswetter and Chris Woakes only being able to record 15 runs between them.
The tourists were eventually dismissed for 175, leaving them 53 runs short of their target.
