Joe Root has continued to star for England after hitting a double century at Lord's, causing captain Alastair Cook to declare on 575-9 against Sri Lanka on day two of the first Test.
The 23-year-old, who ended the innings unbeaten alongside James Anderson (nine not out), has become the third-youngest Englishman to earn a double ton.
Root's prolific partnership with Matt Prior (86) came to an end in the morning session, but despite Sri Lanka taking the wickets of Chris Jordan (19), Stuart Broad (47) and Liam Plunkett (39), Root continued to make progress.
The Yorkshireman registered his Test 200 off 298 balls.
