Jacques Rudolph signs two-year Glamorgan extension

Former South Africa batsman Jacques Rudolph signs a contract extension at Glamorgan until 2017.

Former South Africa batsman Jacques Rudolph has signed a contract to stay at Glamorgan until 2017.

The opener signed a two-year deal when he originally joined the Welsh outfit prior to the 2013 season.

Glamorgan lost key all-rounder Jim Allenby to Somerset on Tuesday but have retained the services of Rudolph for a further two years.

The 33-year-old, who has previously played for Surrey and Yorkshire in English country cricket, averaged over 80 and 60 in 50-over and Twenty20 cricket respectively last campaign.

Rudolph scored 2,622 runs at an average of 35.43 in his 48 Tests for South Africa, the last of which was in 2012.
