Former England batsman Kevin Pietersen has insisted that Jos Buttler is ready to keep wicket at Test level.
Twenty-three-year-old Buttler made headlines yesterday afternoon by scoring 121 runs during England's one-day international defeat to Sri Lanka at Lord's.
Following that knock, Pietersen believes that the time is right to promote the Lancashire wicket-keeper to the longest format of the game.
"I said it a few months back that @josbuttler is a #superstar and I'm so happy for him! He has to play Test cricket now," Pietersen wrote on Twitter.
In contrast to Pietersen's view, England captain Alastair Cook claimed that Buttler is not yet ready to turn out for the Test side.
