Pakistan's Wahab Riaz and Australia's Shane Watson are fined after clashing with each other in Friday's quarter-final match.

Pakistan's Wahab Riaz and Australia's Shane Watson have been fined following their confrontation with each other in Friday's World Cup quarter-final.

Riaz was charged 50% of his match fee by the International Cricket Council (ICC) for using "aggressive and abusive language", while Watson was fined 15% of his fee for "conduct contrary to the spirit of the game" after the verbal exchange.

An ICC statement read: "Watson ignored the umpires' instructions and verbally engaged with Wahab, who, at the end of the over, followed through towards the batsman and used aggressive and abusive language."

The incident occurred in the 33rd over of Australia's victory after Watson took exception to Riaz's pace bowling.
