Pakistan leg-spinner Danish Kaneria has been requested by the country's cricket board to explain any involvement he had in the spot-fixing scandal which saw England's Mervyn Westfield handed a four-month jail term.
Kaneria had said that he had been "cleared" by the police in England as well as the national cricket boards.
However, a joint statement issued on Monday by International Cricket Council, England & Wales Cricket Board and the Pakistan Cricket Board says that Kaneria's name is far from clear and that he will have to appear before the PCB.
"Following reports in the media in which Danish Kaneria claims to have been issued with a clearance certificate, the ICC, the ECB and the PCB can categorically deny that such a clearance certificate was ever issued," the statement read.
"The PCB stated that, following the Mervyn Westfield judgement, Danish Kaneria will again be called to appear before the integrity committee to explain his position.
"The PCB also confirmed that the Kaneria clearance matter is pending before the integrity committee of the PCB where in the last meeting he was directed to provide copies of the tapes of his Essex police interview."
The 31-year-old hasn't featured for his country since 2010 because of his links with corruption.
