South Africa have confirmed that fast bowler Morne Morkel will play no more part in the ICC Champions Trophy tournament due to a thigh injury.
The 28-year-old suffered the strain during yesterday's opener, which the Proteas lost by 26 runs to India in Cardiff.
Following an MRI scan, it is understood that Morkel, who bowled 6.5 overs for 27 runs without a wicket, will be sidelined for three weeks, according to ESPN.
South Africa's selectors are expected to call on a replacement ahead of the Proteas' next game against Pakistan at Edgbaston on June 10.
