Quinton de Kock century puts South Africa in control

Quinton de Kock scores 135 runs as South Africa post a target of 359 in the first one-day international with India in Johannesburg.

A superb innings of 135 from 121 balls from Quinton de Kock has helped South Africa record a score of 358-4 in their first one-day international with India in Johannesburg.

The 20-year-old produced a stunning performance to achieve his second one-day international century, recording 18 fours and three sixes during his eventful time in the middle.

Hashim Amla added 65 runs as chief support to De Kock, as South Africa advanced to 247-3 with eight overs remaining.

A total of 300 looked likely with AB de Villiers and JP Duminy at the crease, but the middle-order pair had the Wanderers Stadium rocking with a partnership of 105 runs off 46 balls.

Duminy hit five sixes in a remarkable cameo that brought 59 off 29 deliveries, while De Villiers recorded 77 before being dismissed by Mohammed Shami to leave India battling against the odds to avoid falling behind in the series.
